As part of Everyone Needs Pockets, the Frome textile sustainability network, How to Mend your clothes offers free guidance sessions in small hand sewn clothing repairs for adults with little or no sewing experience or confidence.
Open to anyone from the Frome area, people are invited to bring along to the free monthly How to Mend Your Clothes sessions, a small selection of loved clothing items in need of attention . Volunteers from the Everyone Needs Pockets network will be available to guide participants through the process of making simple hand sewn repairs.
With textile sustainability in mind, the How to Mend Your Clothes sessions are inclusive and designed to give anyone (adult) the opportunity and confidence to extend the useful life of their clothing with simple mending techniques. Our aim is to share skills that will enable people to keep their clothing wearable for longer, thus keeping them out of the waste cycle. Ultimately we want to develop Frome as a zero textile waste community.
